is basically pointless to me. Neither of my teams are able to spend a bunch of money because we end up going in the hole.
Starting bids are already out of range for my teams and if I go choose to try and spend we come no where close to winning.
The teams that are winning all the time will continue for quite a while.
Just venting lol it's frustrating.

I've got 2 with money and 2 that really have to budget Cubs/Senators Pirates/Tigers
I would trade you the Cubs for the Cards (like you would do that), and the Senators for the Browns (possible?).

Nah, it's ok. I just go to look at FAs and like your offer for Fonseca does me in. It's just crazy how much the Senators can spend, along with some others, compared to the rest. I get it, it's like that in real baseball too but in this era? Was it really like that then?

I wouldn't think so either.

Branch Rickey used to develop talent in his farm system (remember addition by subtraction?). He'd keep the best talent and sell the rest to the rich teams, which supported the extensive farm system he developed.
If we were to change the league, it would be to sign free agent rookies for the ML minimum in order to invest in potential future talent.
Thoughts on this idea?

Or. Start rookie free agents bidding at there draft salary If they weren't drafted I'm sure they would be happy to receive a rookie deal. Say $50 for a max of 9years More rookies would get a chance and some would develop into quality players.
Or maybe some kind of secondary in season rookie draft

I was thinking of a 2 - 3 year deal at the rookie prices. Players might develop into at least bench material or could blossom depending on the algorithm. More minor league players would broaden the competitive base and lead to more competition overall. The rookies would be those not drafted in the six round league draft and of course would be open to league bidding, but at a more affordable price.
Further thoughts?

Interesting, worth considering.

I don't really see how a 3 year deal would help a low budget team. If the player develops in 3 years they probably wouldn't be able to retain him

And the majority of teams are low budget lol

OK - one year deal at rookie FA pricing and the GM gets to decide on further contracts after the season ends.
Any further thoughts?

Again, I don't understand how a 1 year deal helps

You get to sign a rookie at $48 instead of $1,000. Great for low budget teams.

Are we going to make any changes regrading free agent rookies?
